Keya Shirali, Producer & Editor

Meet Keya Shirali, a New York-based producer/editor in the earlier stages of her career! Starting as a producing intern at Gigantic Pictures, Keya covered a range of tasks within post-production areas, informing her technical practice whilst working on her short documentary. From college to the workplace, Keya shares the ways she has immersed herself in filmmaking communities, attending panel talks for inspiration, self-teaching editing software and approaching editing with a sense of play and experimentation, to see where it takes her. I loved reading Keya’s story, especially the way she’s found different avenues into the industry and how to approach upskilling through self-teaching and experimentation. Enjoy Keya's career story!
