All Women of Colour Editing Team makes Emmy Awards History
“This was a historic nomination. I just hope and pray that any woman of colour in college, in high school, anywhere they live, are looking at us on the stage right now and knowing that it’s possible.”
The 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards saw post-production history being made when the ‘A Black Lady Sketch Show’ post-production team won the prestigious award.
Why? Because they are the FIRST (but most certainly won’t be the last!!) all women of colour post team to win the editing accolade for ‘Outstanding Picture Editing For Variety Programming’. Daysha Broadway, Stephanie Filo and Jess Hernández are the talented team behind the hilarious HBO series and are true inspirations to women working in post-production everywhere!
